Love Rides the Rails

Love Rides the Rails - February 1998
A hilarious look at the typical melodrama of bygone years.
Cast included guest appearances by local celebrities and officials.

Written by Morland Cary

This classic melodrama has been adapted to become a fictional 19th century Naperville where one of two railroads, the DuPage Valley, Naperville and Pacific is fighting for its life to save its franchise. The sound effects are real and the stage settings are as true to old time theatre as was possible, up to and including the footlights. Naperville community leaders were written in with cameo appearances. The audience participates in puncuating the action with hoorahs for the heroes and boos and hisses for the villains. An "enormous amount of fun" says State Representative Mary Lou Cowlishaw, who appeared on stage February 15.

STARRING: A cast of 18 plus guest appearances.
